Ahhh…summer is here. Along with summer comes baseball! If your child is playing, it may be important to consider purchasing a big barrel baseball bat. Unless you have been around the youth leagues for a while, you may have not heard about these bats. Generally, these bats have 2 5/8" and 2 3/4" barrel. They are sometimes called "Senior League" bats and are designed for youths ages 10 through 15. 

A good point to remember is that senior league bats are not approved for Little League, Dixie, Babe Ruth or AABC leagues. It is best to check with your local league or team coach for the official bat rules on big barrel baseball bats for your league.

The top of the line of the big barrel baseball bat is offered by Louisville Slugger is the Triton TPX. Prices start at $299.99 and is only offered at 30” and 20 ounces. The bat features 3X composite technology, which means a three zone design with one-piece strength. There is the exclusive Bubble Transition Zone for barrel and handle bonding. It has a 2 5/8” barrel and a synthetic grip. The handle is 7/8" standard with the patented Louisville Slugger end cap.

The V Grip model bat starts at $104.99 for the 29 inch, 21 ounce size. The bat is also offered in 30 inch, 22 ounce and 31 inch, 23 ounce models.
